Oil Paint
7.12.12
Daxa Parma is a British Asian Artist. Commissioned work includes large to medium scale paintings and temporary large scale artwork.
Daxa aligns herself with the Slow Art Movement where the viewing of art is a slow and meditative process, viewed and considered over for duration of time. The work is an expression of the devotion to the process, taking away the emphasis on pure decoration.
Daxa told Cass Art that her favourite mediums are Oil paint on Board and Canvas and also acrylic inks and acrylics on paper. She said “I love the sumptuous quality of Oil paint and consider it to be alive and organic when I’m painting with it. I paint with the edge of metal scrapers that I bought from Germany 20 years ago. My work takes on a different quality when on paper and working with inks to form transparent layers and using acrylics with a scraper to apply and then remove the paint always creates unique textures and effects.”
We’ve spent the last 20 years working with professional artists and students to ensure we have the best product choice available, edited from the world’s finest art materials suppliers. Most items are available in all stores but our flagship store does carry additional ranges.
