Hampstead Summer Festival is a week long celebration of Hampstead's unique and vibrant community. It’s a fantastic volunteer run, family event from 30 June – 6 July 2013, raising funds for two local charities, Age UK Camden and Keats Community Library.
The Festival opens with the Big Fair, a carnival style street party on Heath Street from 11am-5pm on Sunday 30 June. Enjoy an eclectic mix of art, culture, food, music, sport, shows and family attractions at the best street party in London. Don't miss the Cass Art stand where you can learn how to screen print and decorate your very own tote bags!
There are also community competitions and events including 'Picture the Heath', a two day fine art competition, chess tournaments at Henderson Court Resource Centre on June 29-30, a photography competition, pub quizzes, a big balloon race and the 'Idle Garden Party' at Fenton House 11 am-6 pm Sat July 6, featuring medieval and Renaissance music in Fenton’s orchard.
