Trafalgar Square’s fourth plinth is ready for some inspiration! The annual Schools Awards is a chance for all children aged 5 to 15 years old living in one of London's 33 Boroughs to get creative and produce their own work of art inspired by the contemporary piece on display in the square. Cass Art has teamed up with the Mayor of London to showcase student works of art from schools all across London. Last year saw a staggering 1,600 entries from every area of the capital. The winning entries from each borough and the top three overall were proudly displayed at City Hall in a public exhibition.
As London still enjoys Katharina Fritsch’s giant ultramarine cockerel, it's time to Fill this Town with Artists and draw inspiration from the possibilities of the Fourth Plinth space. We are looking forward to the next two commissions, which will be announced in February - so watch this space.
For inspiration for this year have a look at last year's shortlist of entries.
The deadline for entries is 20th March 2014, so there’s plenty of time to get your young one inspired before teachers enter online. Head to our online store to stock up on your materials and follow Cass Art on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest competitions and offers.
