The anonymous postcard exhibition returns | The RCA Secret 2016
Whether you’re a budding art collector or looking to buy your first contemporary artwork, the Stewards Law RCA Secret makes artwork accessible to everyone with the return of their postcard exhibition this April.
The exhibition in Kensington Gore offers visitors the chance to admire and acquire original post-card sized artworks from up-and-coming graduates right up to internationally acclaimed artists. Previous contributors have included Grayson Perry, Jeremy Deller, Yinka Shonibare and Annette Messenger, to name a few.
Here comes the twist. The artists themselves remain anonymous, keeping visitors in the dark as they browse the 2,900 artworks on display. Each postcard is signed on the reverse, so collectors are unaware of the artists’ identity until they have made their purchase.
The show supports students at a formative time in their career, uniting amateur and professional artists in an exhibition where the work speaks for itself. All the profits raised go to the RCA Fine Art Student Award Fund, which provides hardship bursaries to help ensure that the most talented artists can study at the RCA, regardless of income.
Cass Art is proud to be supporting this unique and innovative event.
The exhibition is open to view with free admission from Friday 8th March - Friday 15th April, 11am-6pm daily, with late openings until 8pm on 13th & 15th April.
The sale starts at 8am on Sunday 10th April for collectors to purchase at the exhibition and online. The postcards sell out fast, so don’t leave it too late to purchase your favourite! Collect your artwork on the 16th April from 9am – 5pm.
We stock a range of products for you to realise your own post-card artworks. Our Cass Art watercolour postcard pad is perfect for giving it a go yourself. Try Winsor & Newton ink for a splash of colour or a Staedtler Fineliner for detailing.
