Q&A (2)
Q What is charcoal used for?
A

Charcoal is a brittle drawing media that is dense in colour and easy to smudge. This smudging technique is used to create gradients and shadows and makes for a fast and hands on approach to drawing. Charcoal is particularly good for working on quick large scale drawings.

Q Is charcoal water soluble?
A

No, charcoal will not solute in water. However you can use turpentine to solute charcoal should you wish.

29th March 2017 Reviewed by Frances Johnson The pastels arrived broken as a result of poor packing.

The photograph suggests a better colour range than the product delivers - the greys are in fact quite similar and one could have been substituted for a lighter grey.

Great to use however
