Q&A (7)
Q What are the measurements of this easel?

Mabef's M04 Studio Easel is 70cm wide and 68cm deep, with a minimum height of 2.05m and maximum of 3.90m, weighing 32kg.

Q Does this come assembled?

No, this will need to be assembled before use.

Q Do the wheels effect the usage of this easel?

The base of this easel includes both wheels for easy motility and adjustable rubber stoppers should you wish to keep the easel static.

Q Who is this easel best for?

This solid H-frame easel is ideal furniture for any artist who needs a long-term easel in their home or studio. The weight and size of this easel makes it difficult to transport, so is not recommended for artists on the move.

Q What are the dimensions of this easel?

This easel measures 70cm x min:205-max:390cm. The base measures 70 x 68cm. It weighs 32kg.

Q Would this easel be heavy enough to support a 12mm 1880 x 120cm MDF board to be used for drawing with vigorous rubbing out etc without tipping or would I need the heavier MO2?

This easel weighs 32 kgs. So long as your board isn't as heavy as the easel then it should be able to take the weight of it.

Q Can this easel be used for smaller paintings too (for example :20 x 40 cm,40 x 60 cm, etc.)?

The Mabef M14 easel would be more suited for paintings up to 60cm in height.

26th February 2016 Reviewed by Terry Dorrian The easel appears to be a good solid construction and functions well. I have a few reservations about the use of plywood to suppprt the main H frame and believe the plywood elements could be better finished (chamferred and rounded edges would be better than the existing ragged sharp corners).

15th January 2016 Reviewed by Andrea Coltman This is a heavy piece of equipment but that's exactly what I was looking for. Something sturdy, robust and not likely to move unless intentionally adjusting. It's predominantly for larger pieces and very large scale work. I love the crank handle so much easier than my more flimsy (cheaper) easels that are secured with a nut and bolt but often slip at the most inconvenient times. I am delighted with this easel.
