4th February 2017 Reviewed by Ryan Notz This is a great easel. I've been using the same easel for 20 years, since art school and I'm happy with it but it's a pain to move up and down and fold and unfold. I also have a portable tripod one that is rubbish in the studio. I was unsure whether to get the M04 or M05 but I made the right choice. The 05 is plenty big enough even for quite large paintings. And you don't want a massive easel in your studio unless you really need it. The crank system is brilliant and everything is designed very nicely. You can tell that many years of evolution have gone into this easel. Pleasure to use. In terms of assembly, I found it very quick and easy. Maybe 10-15 minutes. But I'm quite good mechanically and not everyone is like that. Hard to fault this easel. Yes the pivot at the base seems like a weak spot but looks can be deceiving and unless you've actually had a problem with it I think you have to assume it will last.

3rd February 2017 Reviewed by Baselica23 I love this easel. It requires some assembly. The instruction diagram is clear and the parts are accurately machined so it is not difficult to put together though it is heavy so it would have been easier if I had had another person to help! It is a thing of beauty, mostly solid beech and very steady and solid. The wind up mechanism is a great facility. I started immediately on a fairly large canvas and it is so much easier to work on different areas when it can be raised and lowered without three hands! I have two other studio easels but this one is much better than the others.

8th December 2016 Reviewed by Jo Ro The easel is extremely well made, I work in oils and normally work small to medium in size, in the future I want to work on larger canvases. The crank on this easel will enable me to do that. As an older artist moving the canvas up and down to reach all areas easily is a real bonus. Love it.

22nd October 2016 Reviewed by Mark Moynihan Once in a lifetime investment. It is a lot of money to pay but not expensive. If I had to pick a fault with it ....personally I would make the bolts between the base and the main frame little bigger in diameter as they have to carry the whole weight of painting and easel.
