Description

Daler-Rowney DAS Modelling Clay is an air-drying clay that you can use for just about any craft purpose.

  • It's moist and ready to use straight from the foil pack.
  • Once you've finished modelling, simple leave it to air-dry to a hard, durable, matt finish, then you can sand, paint or drill it, as well as paint it with acrylic colours.
  • Comes in either white or terracotta.

For the DAS Modelling Clay you should allow 24 hours drying time per centimetre thickness. Leaving in a warm, dry place such as an airing cupboard will encourage drying. 

Q Would the clay be suitable to make mugs out of that can actually be used?
A

This clay is not waterproof so it wouldn't be suitable for using as a mug. You can varnish it with many layers or use a polymer clay.

We dried it in the oven - put the item in a cold oven and then put on the heat to the lowest setting (100C ***) for 15-20 minutes at a time, and keep checking in.
