Cretacolor Aqua Monolith pencils are solid cylinders of woodless, water-soluble pigment surrounded with the thinnest possible coating of lacquer – just enough to keep your hands clean.
They're brilliantly versatile: use the tip to draw fine details or turn the pencil sideways for broad strokes of colour.
You can use them dry, just as you would an ordinary pencil, or add water in a variety of ways: swipe a wet brush across the pencil and use it as a standard watercolour, or dip the pencil into the water and draw with it wet for intense colour.
You can even dissolve shavings from the Cretacolor Aqua Monolith in water and use them as paint, so there's no waste.
