Description

This Daler-Rowney Ingres Spiral Pastel Pad contains 24 sheets of 150gsm paper with excellent tooth for traditional pastel work.

  • Named after the Neoclassical French painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, its surface texture, known as a chain and laid line surface, is formed on a cylinder mould machine by pressing the paper fibres between the cylinder mesh and the marking felt.
  • This Daler-Rowney Ingres Spiral Pastel Pad contains eight each of three different whites, each measuring 16" by 12".

Q&A (2)
Q What medium does this paper suit best?
A

This paper comes in a variety of colours, and can be used to stylize your pastel works. These tend to be used to create mood in your work. Using a red paper will make an image of a sunset feel warmer than if drawn onto a white surface for example.

Q Does this paper need stretching before use with pastels or can you use it straight from the pad?
A

No, this paper does not require stretching before you use it with pastels.

Cass Art are the cheapest outlet that I have been able to find for paper and most other artists materials.
It's a shame that the manufacturers can't trim their prices down and then retailers like Cass Art could pass a bit more discount on to us.
If the paper was cheaper we would buy and use more. Bit of a vicious circle really.
