These beautiful Khadi Lokta and Mitsumata papers are made from the inner bark, or bast fibre, of lokta and mitsumata – native plants of the Himalayan foothills.
It’s a sustainable method of papermaking since the plants regrow after being cropped and can be harvested again after three or four years.
More good news is that the resulting paper has a smooth surface and a beautifully rich texture.
They’re made using the Japanese nagashizuki dipping and layering method and are perfect for ink drawing, calligraphy, printmaking and bookbinding.
This pack contains 20 mixed A3 sheets of Lokta and Mitsumata paper. Lokta is darker-toned and has a harder surface than Mitsumata.
