Description

This Winsor & Newton Artists’ Charcoal Assorted pack contains approximately 12 sticks.

  • Each stick of around 14 cm long has been carefully selected to avoid weaknesses and imperfections, then baked to produce consistent, even lines, producing the natural beauty of charcoal drawing without the hassles.
  • All you need to concentrate on is the rich black textures of the finest willow. Winsor & Newton’s Artists’ Charcoal is a pleasure to use.

Q&A (2)
Q What is charcoal used for?
A

Charcoal is a brittle drawing media that is dense in colour and easy to smudge. This smudging technique is used to create gradients and shadows and makes for a fast and hands on approach to drawing. Charcoal is particularly good for working on quick large scale drawings.

Q Is charcoal water soluble?
A

No, charcoal will not solute in water. However you can use turpentine to solute charcoal should you wish.
