Description

As you'd expect from such a well-established and trusted brand, Faber-Castell's TK Fine Colourfine Line leads are extremely tough and especially smooth-writing.

  • You can use these blue leads with any standard mechanical pencil when you want to add a touch of colour to your drawing, sketching or writing.
  • They have a line width of 0.5mm, and this pack contains 12 leads, which should be enough to keep you going for a long while.

Q&A (3)
Q What size lead shall I go for?
A

This will depend on what you are using the pencil for. Leads are measured by the width of the marking the lead will make. For example, a 0.5mm lead will draw a line that measures 0.5mm thick. Thus, if drawing on a smaller scale, a smaller size lead may be more appropriate. In terms of the grade of the lead, H stands for hard, and B stands for black. A H pencil will offer a lighter marking and a B pencil will offer a darker marking.

Q What material are the leads made of?
A

The leads for these pencils are made from graphite graded from H to B.

Q Is this shade of blue a non-photo blue? If a picture is scanned will this shade of blue show up on the scanned image?
A

This is not a non-photo blue colour but is still uesful for architectural drawings.

10th October 2016 Reviewed by Mark Renshaw I use these leads to produce the base sketch for a drawing, guidelines etc.

I think these would be useful to anyone that needs to plan their drawings, from freehand/art to technical drawings.

The only issue I have with this item is that the lead is a little brittle - likely due to the 0.5 size than anything else as I've heard blue lead is often a little weaker anyway.

15th May 2016 Reviewed by Emma Broster Great product, I found I'm a little to heavy handed when sketching so the lead breaks a little more than I'd like but that's down to my style of sketching not the product.
