Q&A (3)
Q What are these used for?
A

Mechanical pencils are used for technical drawings and for work where accuracy and precision is required. They do not need sharpening and use lead made to size which is pushed through the body of the pencil to use. This provides a consistent size marking.

Q What size lead shall I go for?
A

This will depend on what you are using the pencil for. Leads are measured by the width of the marking the lead will make. For example, a 0.5mm lead will draw a line that measures 0.5mm thick. Thus, if drawing on a smaller scale, a smaller size lead may be more appropriate. In terms of the grade of the lead, H stands for hard, and B stands for black. A H pencil will offer a lighter marking and a B pencil will offer a darker marking.

Q What material are the leads made of?
A

The leads for these pencils are made from graphite graded from H to B.

13th June 2014 Reviewed by Steve Gostling Good general-use accurate pencils- inexpensive but well made and the clutch mechanism's reassuringly solid-feeling. Should last longer than their plastic-y exterior would seem to imply (it's not that cheap brittle plastic, by the way). Rubbery grips & barrel shape are comfortable in use too. Good value, reliable product.
