DRYPOINT ETCHING

DRYPOINT ETCHING

22nd Jun 2024

This 4 hour workshop will give you a comprehensive introduction to Intaglio printmaking, a remarkably simple process which produces beautiful marks through the use of engraved lines. We will look at different approaches to mark making and engraving and experiment with outcomes. Participants will learn how to use traditional etching tools to create plates with a variety of tones, shapes and textures. This course is great for beginners but will also cover some valuable tips and tricks for the more experienced printmaker.

Workshop tutor Tintin Lindkvist Nielsen is a Swedish printmaker, illustrator, and animator based in Glasgow. She graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 2022 and works cross-disciplinarily within the field of visual communication and storytelling, exploring topics related to mental health and emotions. She enjoys creating worlds with bright colors and characters that resemble ours while also being different. What she loves about printing is all the experimenting and 'happy accidents' that can occur during the printing process.
