Description

This Kensington Easel from Daler Rowney is a robust studio easel made from beechwood.

  • It can be adjusted to any angle, and can be tilted and secured with fly bolts at two points instead of one.
  • This makes it much more versatile than most other easels out there; the unique feature means the top can be adjusted to a horizontal position.
  • Ideal for working with watercolour and diluted oils and acrylics, it can even be set up as a table!

This easel can hold canvases and boards with a maximum height of 122cm, weighs 12kg and can be adjusted into any angle between horizontal and vertical.

8th April 2021 Reviewed by Beth Swan This is a great easel. Sturdy and no building required. I do wish there was a little guidance on how to adjust each bit but with a little trial an error I figured it out. The quality is good and I like that it is FSC wood.

15th January 2019 Reviewed by Davina Lobato Liked the fact I didn’t need to pull out any tools. It’s sturdy and I have options at painting in various angles. I especially like the fact when it holds a painting in place it doesn’t hinge over causing me to paint the easel as well. Overall it’s a good easel to use.

9th June 2017 Reviewed by Constance Deakins came with no instructions.
it isotope heavy and needs strong wrists to tighten it sufficiently it doesn't suddenly go backwards when painting.
screws missing from lower legs had to find some to make it stable.
Well made but not the best design in the world by a long way.
I am very disappointed but can't afford to buy another one

3rd March 2017 Reviewed by Robert Hawker I am currently using the easel for supporting a large canvas for a stylised design of a Tibetan mandala. This needs stability and some overhead working. The tilt and adjustment system is invaluable, and the horizontal position is very stable. I plan to use the easel for "Sumni I" Japanese ink work on larger surfaces. Its strong enough for a large thin drawing board as well. I have already recommended this studio easel to a old friend who would appreciate the flexibility the studio easel provides.

21st May 2016 Reviewed by David Lewis This easel has come up to my expectations and because of its versatility it will replace two easels in my studio. The quality of construction and the fittings are good and once used the easel is easy to adjust.
I have often mentioned Cass Art to my friends when discussing art supplies and I would recommend this easel for those who paint on a moderate scale.
Right now it is bright and shiny having only been delivered last Monday, but it will be used most days and inevitably get paint splattered.
