Join London College of Fashion’s Creative Director Rob Unett and team as they run a series of live workshop sessions that focus of sub-sculpture and 3D fashion illustration. The work produced in the workshops will contribute to the growing live exhibition within the Art Space at Cass Art Glasgow, that reaches fruition on Friday 1st November 2019.
This five-day ‘active’ workshop theme is ‘SUB(S)CUL(P)TURE’. SUB CULTURE EXAMPLES: Afrofuturism, Amish, Anarcho-punk, Anime, Emo, Futurism, Goth, Greaser, Grunge, Hip-hop, hippy, Mod, Northern Soul, Rave, Riot girl, Rocker, skinhead, suedehead and Soulboys etc…
The workshops will look at historical and contemporary sub-cultures and the influence, re-appearance, re-emergence they have had in fashion past and present. Together attendees will react to thier visual findings through illustration. The mark making, paintings, drawings and work will then be sculpted into 3D fashioned pieces.
The aim is to push fashion illustration into a new format. From flat to 3D, sculptured forms will emerge. From paper and card, string, tape, paper-mache, through to found objects, fabrics and unconventional materials you will advance the discipline in a new dynamic and a largely unseen way.
Some material provided, including paper and card all differing weights, acrylic, ink, pens, felt tips, pencils, wax crayons, masking fluid, tape, brushes, sharpeners, scalpels, water pots, glue sticks and PVA. More available in store on the day with a 10% discount for attendees.
