EXHIBITION: IN ABSENTIA

This exhibition will contain work created in the last year and explore themes centred on AJ’s recollection of growing up in a run-down, Welsh seaside town during the 1980s. Through these pieces, AJ will reflect on the yearning for growth that pushed them to move away, and the family bonds that eventually brought them back again.

AJ is a self-taught, neurodiverse artist. The Welsh-born painter started making in late 2022 and has exhibited in solo and group shows in Cardiff and across the South West. Their practice includes the use of paint, encaustic, sculpture, bricolage, words and digital audio. ajsidford.com
