EXHIBITION: R E C O N N E C T | M Y T H O L O G I E S

Reconnect | Mythologies presents a diverse exhibition of contemporary art created by students of all ages from Linlithgow Art School. Over the past year, students in our weekly and monthly classes have explored the rich world of mythology. Their work draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, including art history, global folklore, and even contemporary pop culture. While they may have started with the same myths, each artist has found a distinctive voice through their unique style and technique.
This exhibition features works inspired by myths from across the globe, including the Chinese zodiac, Greek myths like Arachne and Athena, and Scottish folklore of giants and the White Hart. Some artists take a more personal approach, using their own life experiences to create a new kind of mythology. Other works explore themes of climate change and wildlife conservation, with artists drawing inspiration from the natural environment, depicting its dangerous, dramatic and awe-inspiring facets. Ultimately, this exhibition is a testament to our shared collective consciousness. Each artist offers a new perspective, ensuring these universal stories remain alive and relevant. linlithgowartschool.co.uk
