EXHIBITION: THE ACCIDENTAL ARTIST BY BILLY CONNOLLY

To celebrate the release of Billy Connolly’s new book THE ACCIDENTAL ARTIST, we've teamed up with his UK publisher John Murray Press and Castle Fine Art to host a special one-off exhibition showcasing 20 incredible artworks from Billy, and to inspire accidental artists everywhere.

In elegant, simple lines, Billy conjures up a land of fantastic beasts, mysterious inventions, and blissful calm. Some drawings are charmingly simple, others feel complex, strange or rebellious. Through them, Billy offers fascinating glimpses of his childhood and his Scottish homeland, takes us on journeys to far-flung places, and shares his life-long obsession with music, wildlife and fashion.

The exhibition, like the book, brings together the best of Billy's drawings with a selection of his most beloved stories. The exhibition includes six deeply personal, new artworks for 2024, exclusively available to purchase from Castle Fine Art. These include pieces which see Billy recalling his Glasgow childhood, living in the Scottish countryside and a bit of Scots history, alongside an insight into his favourite hobby, fishing, as practised near his Florida home. It is a joyful collision of colour, creativity and storytelling, and an exhilarating new portrait of Billy's extraordinary life.
