EXHIBITION: ‘TO SEE A WORLD IN A GRAIN OF SAND’
30th Dec 2022
Lois Pearson is a 21-year-old artist, whose work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts and with the Royal Watercolour Society when she won the Cass Art Prize in the RWS Open 2023 at Bankside Gallery. Lois takes interest in the unconventional beauty of the landscape and rural architecture within the everyday, seeking the extraordinary in the ordinary. She focuses on structure, shape and shadow to emphasise the strength and importance of our surroundings. Her work is a testament to simple rural life which she seeks to eternalise. As well as this, many of her paintings humanify the subject matter, demonstrated in the painting ‘Family Gathering’.

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower

And Eternity in an hour
