FROM MIXING TO PAINTING: A PORTRAIT WORKSHOP

FROM MIXING TO PAINTING: A PORTRAIT WORKSHOP

5th Dec 2024

Join painter Rosso Emerald Crimson for a hands-on portrait painting workshop — from mixing skin tones to completing a finished portrait. The session begins with an exploration of colour mixing, where participants will use a range of pigments to balance warm and cool hues and adapt their palette to different complexions. In the second half, Rosso will demonstrate how to translate those mixtures into paint, guiding participants step by step through the portrait process. Working from provided references, each artist will have the chance to apply the principles learned, create their own study, and finish with a small portrait to take home.

Rosso Emerald Crimson is a contemporary painter known for merging classical realism with expressive abstraction. Her work has been exhibited internationally — including at the MEAM Museum in Barcelona and the Mall Galleries in London — and featured in publications such as Colossal, My Modern Met, and The Artist Magazine. She is the founder of Rosso Art School, where she teaches artists worldwide to paint with both structure and freedom. rossoart.net
