Gothic Calligraphy Workshop

Artists Suzy and Michelle will be teaching Gothic calligraphy in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere at Cass Art Liverpool. Participants will explore Gothic type and learn new skills using materials provided on the day. You will learn how to write Gothic type and everyone will take home some Gothic writing they have created themselves. You will be given handouts about type to explore and a selection of papers to write on.

Suzy Chappell is a musician/artist from the Wirral who has a wide variety of skills from being an organ player to creating bold and colourful paintings. She studied Fine Art at Wirral Met College after then gained an interest in calligraphy.

Michelle Murray is a multidisciplinary artist who works in a variety of mediums from illustration, making handmade watercolours, sketchbooks and charcoal to prints and 3D sculptures. She studied graphic design at Central Saint Martins Art College where she specialised in illustration. Her work is inspired by everyday life, from childhood to nature in a Scandinavain folklore style.
