These Value Series Canvas Textured Artists Panel from Ampersand can be used as versatile surfaces with most or all forms of paint or mixed media.

  • They are a top quality MDF panel sealed with acid-free acrylic gesso with added canvas texture for optimum paint control.
  • Perfect for use with Oil and Acrylic, the ready-to-paint canvas-like texture gives artists all the advantages of painting on panel, but with the familiar feel of a fine-linen or canvas.
  • The durable rigid, medium-density fibreboard support makes the Artist Panel especially ideal for palette-knife painting and multi-media applications.

These boards come in three thicknesses of 9.5 (3/8”), 19mm (3/4”) and 38mm (1.5") and in a range of sizes from 20.3 x 20.3cm (8 x 8”) up to 45.7 x 60.1cm (18 x 24”).

Q&A (1)
Q Why work on wooden panel as oppose to canvas?

Paintings on wooden panel are easier to conserve and offer a longer lasting and more rigid surface to paint on than canvas stretched on a frame. This hardness offers superior line control and support, and colour vibrancy is stronger as the colour reflects off the surface as oppose to absorbing into the weave of the canvas.
