Description

Galeria Acrylic Pads are made up with canvas-textured paper developed by Winsor & Newton specifically for acrylics.

As acrylics aren’t prone to sinking like oil paints, using a paper like this rather than canvas lets you achieve a wider variety of results, and this one is popular with acrylic painters for its texture and drag.

  • It’s also more practical than canvas when you’re working outdoors, and you can even use it for oil painting, as long as you first prime it with one or two thin coats of Acrylic Gesso Primer.
  • Galeria paper is made from high-quality wood-free fibre, and is acid-free, so you can be sure that it won’t discolour with age.
  • It’s both internally and externally sized to help make colours brilliant. It’s buffered, mould-made and the weight is 300gsm (140lb).

Q Do I have to stretch this paper before use. does it cockle 
A

If you are only using acrylic paints then this paper will not warp or cockle. However, if you are adding water as well this will need to be stretched to make sure.

Q Are you able to apply resin over this when finished?

Dear Debbie Mendonca,

Thank you for your query, yes you can put resin onto this pad, it is adviced to use a glazing resin as you would have more control, where ordinary resin would pour off the page.
