26th November 2020 Reviewed by Kate Haywood Love this paper, perfect for watercolour. Really textured so great for fur/landscapes etc. I love the way paint dries on it, more character than the smooth hot press I think! Really lovely effect. Nice and heavy so no curling and hold and absorbs really well

1st June 2020 Reviewed by Emily Shaw A brilliant product, saves time and mess by not having to stretch your paper. When lots of water is applied, paper may wrinkle initially, but if left to dry fully before removing from the block, it will flatten out completely.

30th April 2020 Reviewed by Ester Cashmore I am relatively new to the world of watercolour and use Windsor & Newton professional watercolour blocks because of the quality of the cotton paper. It performs well and doesn't need stretching.

29th March 2018 Reviewed by Angela Sutherland W&N claim that this paper "will not warp even when saturated with heavy water". I find that it does warp a little when I apply a relatively light amount of water for painting wet-in-wet skies, though it dries perfectly flat. I would not feel confident saturating it with heavy water. I normally use wood paper but wanted to try this as I have heard that cotton is far superior, but so far I can't tell the difference.

27th April 2017 Reviewed by Diane Umemoto I've only just started using the block, and so far I'm quite satisfied with it.It allows different techniques.I splash paint a lot when I'm making trees and occasionally use scraping (good), crinkling cling film (okay) and salt (still working on that to get the absorption rate right). This is the first time I'm using a Winsor and Newton block; so far so good.
