Cretacolor Aqua Monolith pencils are solid cylinders of woodless, water-soluble pigment surrounded with the thinnest possible coating of lacquer – just enough to keep your hands clean.

  • They're brilliantly versatile: use the tip to draw fine details or turn the pencil sideways for broad strokes of colour.
  • You can use them dry, just as you would an ordinary pencil, or add water in a variety of ways: swipe a wet brush across the pencil and use it as a standard watercolour, or dip the pencil into the water and draw with it wet for intense colour.
  • You can even dissolve shavings from the Cretacolor Aqua Monolith in water and use them as paint, so there's no waste.
