Description

This Derwent Inktense Blocks Tin of 24 contains two dozen of these watersoluble bars of solid pigment.

  • Related to Derwent’s Inktense Pencils, they produce bright, bold colour somewhere between watercolour and ink.
  • It’s easy to blend and is permanent when dry.
  • They offer a variety of possibilities: use their rectangular shape to mark direct on paper, either fine detail or areas of colour; add water to create vivid washes; grate them to create watercolour; use them to create layers by allowing to dry and then overpainting.

This Derwent Inktense Blocks Tin of 24 contains: Sherbet Lemon, Sun Yellow, Tangerine, Poppy Red, Chilli Red, Shiraz, Fuchsia, Violet, Iris Blue, Bright Blue, Deep Indigo, Sea Blue, Teal Green, Ionian Green, Apple Green, Field Green, Leaf Green, Mustard, Baked Earth, Willow, Bark, Charcoal Grey, Ink Black and Antique White.

11th December 2014 Reviewed by kflgruinard Lovely materials, very intense colours and easy to mix into other shades. I especially like being able to 'lift' colour from the sticks with a wet brush. A good range of colour in the 24 box.

22nd May 2014 Reviewed by Rosemary Firth I was inspired to try Derwent inktense blocks by a friend who said that you could use them on wet fabric, which once ironed, would be colourfast. I experimented with them and loved the technique. I have now recommended them to my textile art group. The colours are vibrant and intermix well.
