POCKET PICS: BEGINNER OIL PAINTING WORKSHOP

Have you ever been quietly curious about oil painting but weren’t sure how of where to begin? Then join us for a relaxing, beginner-friendly workshop where you'll be gently introduced to the timeless art of oil painting through the beautiful Alla Prima technique (an expressive method where paint is applied wet-on-wet) allowing you to complete your miniature artwork in a single sitting.
Working on miniature canvases you'll explore the delicate intimacy of miniature oil painting allowing you to slow down, channel your focus & express your creativity using a limited colour palette. Whether you're a beginner wanting to dabble in a new medium or simply wish to enjoy an afternoon of painting, everyone is welcome.
Lauren is a self-taught artist who, following a degree in graphic design, decided to return to her love of art, focusing on hyper-realistic pencil drawings before branching into oil paint. Since then she has continued to develop her style which specialises in miniature still life studies.

- Guidbook
- Cass Art Oil Paint
- Palette Knife
- Mixing palette
- Brushes (if you prefer bring your own)
- Liquin & linseed oil (oil medium)
- Brush cleaner (low / no odour)
- Paper towels
- Gloves
