POCKET PICS - BEGINNER OIL PAINTING WORKSHOP

Have you ever been quietly curious about oil painting but weren’t sure how of where to begin? Join us for a relaxing, beginner-friendly workshop where you'll be gently introduced to the timeless art of oil painting through the beautiful Alla Prima technique (an expressive method where paint is applied wet-on-wet) allowing you to complete your miniature artwork in a single sitting.
Working on miniature canvases we'll explore the delicate intimacy of miniature oil painting allowing you to slow down, channel your focus & express your creativity using a limited colour palette. Whether you're a beginner wanting to dabble in a new medium or simply wish to enjoy an afternoon of painting, everyone is welcome.
Lauren is a self taught artist who following a degree in graphic design, decided to return to her love of art, focusing on hyper-realistic pencil drawings before branching into oil paint. Since then, she has continued to develop her style, which specialises in miniature still life studies.

Materials provided:
- Linen canvas board (10x10 cm)
- Cass Oil Paint
- Palette Knife
- Mixing palette (Welcome to bring your own)
- Brushes (welcome to bring your own)
- Liquin (oil medium)
- Brush cleaner (low / no odour)
- Paper towels
- Gloves
Important Notice: Please bring or wear an old T-shirt or apron as this class will include the use of mineral spirit, oil paint & oil medium so caution is required to protect clothing.
