VERDACCIO PORTRAIT IN PASTEL: RECREATING 'THE GIRL WITH THE PEARL EARRING'

In this follow-up to our Verdaccio technique workshop, students will apply their layering skills to a portrait study inspired by Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring. The session will focus on capturing the structure, lighting, and delicate colour transitions of the original using pastel pencils and the classical Verdaccio approach.
This workshop is ideal for those who attended Part 1 or have basic experience with pastels. Instruction will be step-by-step, with personal guidance to help each student bring depth and realism to their portrait.
Location: Cass Art Liverpool
Date & times: Friday 31st May 2025, 2:30pm - 5pm
Ages: 18+
Materials: Each student will receive a Pastelmat paper sheet with the portrait outline already prepared. Participants will need the following Carbothello pastel pencil numbers. However, any other brands is welcome,included sticks:
