WOODCUT PRINT WORKSHOP

In this 4-hour workshop you will learn how to carve your own hand-drawn design into a sheet of specialist Asian Plywood using traditional tools. We will demonstrate how to use the various tools to simplify objects into bold shapes, suggest tone through pattern and describe finer details using line. This workshop is perfect for beginners or those taking a step up from Lino printing.

Tintin Lindkvist Nielsen is a Swedish printmaker, illustrator, and animator based in Glasgow. She graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 2022 and works cross-disciplinarily within the field of visual communication and storytelling, exploring topics related to mental health, and emotions. She enjoys creating worlds with bright colors and characters that resemble ours while also being different. All materials provided: Each participant will receive a block of Asian Plywood to carve their images into and have access to enough paper to make a series of prints.
