SILKSCREEN PRINTING WORKSHOP

Come and learn all about Silkscreen printmaking techniques, and create your own prints using various stencilling techniques.This fun hands-on workshop is beginner friendly and suitable for anyone interested in the art of printmaking. The workshop will be taught with a DIY- focus without the use of any fancy machines. You will take home with you your freshly created prints and the confidence to continue printmaking on your own at home. Come with your own ideas or be inspired by a range of reference material. All materials needed will be provided, including: Silkscreens, printing inks, stencils, squeegees, and unlimited paper.

Vanessa is a professional artist-educator with over 7 years of teaching experience across a variety of art mediums, and is a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Art and Design from the Institute of Education, UCL. She graduated from Goldsmiths (BA Fine Art and Art History) with First Class Honours and an MA in Aesthetics and Art Theory from Kingston University. She is passionate about empowering others in their creative practice through an ethos of accessibility and has supported children, teenagers, and adults in classroom settings and workshops. In 2019, she was commissioned as an Artist in Residence at Facebook's (Meta) Asia Pacific Headquarters to create an extensive and experimental multi-media installation. Most recently in 2022, she was selected as UCL's representative for Tsukuba University's Artist in Residence programme. In 2023, she completed a residency under Master Potter Kwak Kyungtae in Icheon, South Korea. As an artist, her work has been exhibited across Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, and the UK.
