WORKSHOP: EARTH PIGMENT PAINT

WORKSHOP: EARTH PIGMENT PAINT

30th Nov 2023

Learn about the history of natural earth, mineral and botanical colour. Learn how to make beautiful, natural water-based paint from the earth, rocks and minerals of the region and experiment with the paints you have made.

Susannah is based near the Severn Estuary, on the edge of the Mendips. After teaching art for 25 years she is now a professional, exhibiting artist. Her use of earth pigments to make her own paint began just 4 years ago, when she started to consider how to make her art practice more sustainable. She especially enjoys teaching others how to make and use paints made from earth and rocks, and to awaken their delight in realising that beautiful paint can be made this way and that not all earth is brown! susannahcrookart.com
