by Cass Art

For a number of years Cass Art  has proudly supported degree shows at Central Saint Martins. This year, to celebrate the first joint exhibition of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses, the Cass Art Prize was awarded to one undergraduate and one postgraduate student selected from Degree Show 1, which featured courses from the Art programme at CSM. Each winner received a prize to the value of £1,000.

Congratulations to the selected winners; Lara Morrell for her works At a Lunar Eclipse, Blurring the Boundaries and A Land Base for a Lunar-tick and Lindsay McMillan for her work NLCAO 1.

Lindsay and Lara were selected during the Private View of Degree Show 1 by a selection panel comprised of James Bidwell, CEO of Cass Art, Turner Prize-nominated artist and CSM alumnus Mark Titchner and Alex Schady, Art Programme Director, Central Saint Martins. The judges were looking for innovation, in either content, form or use of material technique and for critical engagement and relevance in a contemporary art context.

An art college and cultural centre in one, Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design is internationally renowned for the creative energy of its students, staff and graduates. To find out more about the shows and Central Saint Martins, visit www.csm.arts.ac.uk
