The Fourth Plinth Programme is UK’s most talked about contemporary sculpture prize. Funded by the Mayor of London and supported by Arts Council England and Bloomberg Philanthropies, it invites world-class artists to create new works for display in Trafalgar Square.
Each year, young people at school in Greater London aged 5-15 are invited to produce an artwork inspired by the commissions for Trafalgar Square’s Fourth Plinth. The awards give children a chance to get involved with public art and offer new views of London. There are three age categories: 5 to 7 years, 8 to 11 years and 12 to 15 years. There’ll also be an award for the best work from each borough with top prizes from Cass Art! All winning entries will appear in a special exhibition at City Hall in spring. The awards are open for entries from 4th January until 11:59pm on 15th March.
