The Caran D'Ache Metallic Fibre Tip Pen is ideal for writing and drawing on everything from greetings cards to photos to posters.

  • It's a fibre-tipped marker pen filled with metallic ink that's opaque once dry, so you can use it on both light and dark backgrounds.
  • You don't need to pump or shake the pen – just use it as you would any other fibre-tip.
  • It has a bullet tip, which creates 1-2mm lines.

We sell Caran D'Ache Metallic Fibre Tip Pens in three colours: bronze, silver and gold.

Q&A (3)
Q What are these pens used for?

Choosing one pen over another will depend on various factors such as the type of mark, surface, scale, type of ink and style of working. Felt tip pens are ideal for broad applications of colour and covering large areas. Depending on the scale you are working in, felt tip pens could also be used for sketching and writing.

Q What are the differences between the nibs?

Felt tip pen nibs come in many different shapes and sizes. The most commonly used is the bullet nib. The roundness of the nib means the stroke will be the same at all times regardless of the angle the pen is held. A brush nib provides brushed strokes of colour not unfamiliar to the effect of using a paint brush and allows for versatility in the kind of marks you can create. Similarly, the chisel nib can be used for a variety of different strokes. Its flat end can be used for curved, thick or thin lines and is particularly good for blocking large areas with colour.

Q What is the opacity of the ink?

This pen has an opaque ink, ideal for layering colour or working on dark surfaces.

20th June 2018 Reviewed by Milcah Ferguson This is my first introduction to Caran D'ache. I purchased this to sign my larger pieces of art work. This pen is incredibly pigmented and I am already looking into purchasing the remaining colors.
