ABOUT GOLDEN ARTIST COLOUR

Golden Artist Colors began in the 1930s when Sam Golden joined his uncle's art supply store, Bocour Artist Colors, in Manhattan. The store became a hub for artists like Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. There, Sam's curiosity led him to experiment with a new paint material – acrylics. The early years were challenging, but with dedication and strong relationships with artists, the company grew. Golden expanded its product line and facilities, gaining recognition for its high-quality paints. Sam passed away in 1997, leaving a legacy of innovation and collaboration with artists. Golden Artist Colors became an employee-owned company in 2010, continuing Sam's vision of providing the best tools for artistic expression. The company remains committed to excellence, with recent developments like QoR watercolors showcasing their ongoing dedication to serving artists.
