TRADITIONAL CHINESE PAINTING: BLOOM IN ALL SEASONS
10th Nov 2024
Traditional Chinese Painting traces its history back more than 4000 years. As time has passed, Chinese painting has developed into a number of different artistic styles. In this workshop, we will focus on the Style: MoGu(没骨)/ Boneless. Using aged bamboo paper and a range of beautiful muted colours and pigments, step by step we travel back in time and experience how the ancients felt about nature and connected with life. We will start with selected classics (师古人 ShiGuRen) to get familiar with the materials and techniques. We will take flowers of the season to feel connected with Nature (师造化 ShiZaoHua): discover the beauty and feel the nature around you! As the aesthetics of traditional Chinese painting is strongly influenced by Chinese philosophy, we will also explore the Chinese way of seeing the world and expressing feelings and also to find your own way (师本心ShiBenXin).
Qing was born in Chongqing, China and now lives in London. She has a background in industrial engineering and lived and worked in Germany for many years. The strong desire to learn more about her native culture led her to study Chinese painting, with which she has a deep connection. After studying the traditions, materials and techniques with diverse professional artists for many years in China, she set up her own company: Q-Studios. She ran traditional Chinese painting workshops in a modern way to bring the ancient culture back to life and to get more people interested in traditional Chinese cultures. Since 2000, she has worked with many international organisations, schools, companies and private groups, conducting workshops in German, English and Chinese for international audiences. Additionally, she is also a National Tea Master and Tea Inspector for Chinese Tea. She brings all the elements together, such as the Chinese Tea Ceremony, Tea Meditation, Chinese Painting Class, and a Chinese Culture Guide to create the 'China to the World' seminar. This seminar makes Chinese culture accessible, visible and tangible, not only providing unique insight but also suggesting ways to introduce elements of Chinese culture into your daily life. q-studios.net
