BEYOND THE GAZE: DRAWING AS CREATIVE PLAY COURSE

This twelve-week course for beginners and practitioners alike helps to provide and establish a creative foundation and methodology. This process will develop an approach to art practice that can expand inherent and previously dormant creative abilities. Using established methods, and with an ascending complexity of subjects to be drawn, tasks are introduced as a form of creative play, where each participant is encouraged to take a journey of intuitive self discovery, embracing the belief that “every man is an artist” (Joseph Beuys, 1921-1986).

David Stokes is a Glasgow School of Art graduate, educationalist, multidisciplinary artist and designer. He works extensively between UK, India and Asia, with over 30+ years of creative insight within Art, design manufacture and production. David’s great strength is his strong technical expertise, creative flair and a focus on design innovation via art & culture. Future insights with an emphasis on driven design agenda in the conception of the New.

• Tues 7th Nov: Intro taster session lesson 1: 2pm - 4:30pm
• Thurs 9th Nov: Intro taster session lesson 1: 2pm - 4:30pm
• Weekly thereafter

Ages: Suitable for all ages, children under 8 must be supervised

Materials required: All materials needed can be bought on the day in-store at Cass Art Liverpool with a 10% discount. For the first class, a range of pencils, solid graphite pencil, eraser, box of charcoal, selected ink pens and fine liner, and A3 format layout grade pad will be required.

Tickets: £12 per individual class to be paid on the day (12 class module). A discounted fee of £120 can be paid in full for the entire 12-week course. Ticket bookings and information arranged by email and bank transfer.
