This Tombow Dual Brush Pen Primary Set contains 6 of these versatile markers, particularly popular with graphic artists and watercolourists but great for just about any kind of drawing.

  • Each has two tips: a fine one that’s perfect for details and a flexible brush.
  • The brush is durable yet soft for creating fine, medium or broad strokes, and is also ideal for filling larger areas with colour.
  • The ink inside the pens won’t bleed, and is odourless and acid-free.
  • Since it’s water-based, you can blend the colours, just as you would with watercolour paint.

The Tombow Dual Brush Pen Primary Set contains black, yellow, green, blue, pink and red.

Q&A (4)
Q Are these pens waterproof when colouring on cardboard etc? Thanks

Tombow pens are water based so they will bleed if they come into contact with moisture. A good waterpoof alternative would be the Copic Markers or the Posca Markers

Q What are these pens used for?

Choosing one pen over another will depend on various factors such as the type of mark, surface, scale, type of ink and style of working. Felt tip pens are ideal for broad applications of colour and covering large areas. Depending on the scale you are working in, felt tip pens could also be used for sketching and writing.

Q Are these pens waterproof?

No. The ink used for these pens is water soluble and will bleed if used with water.

Q What is the opacity of the ink?

This pen has a transparent ink, ideal for blending and overlaying colour.

17th February 2016 Reviewed by Joe Pettitt I use these pens to create quick brush script lettering and for outlining illustrations, where outlines desired are not uniform in profile, without having to draw either side of the outline and then fill in.

Would recommend to lettering artists and illustrators.
