Caran d’Ache has introduced an exclusive Special Edition set created in collaboration with British illustrator and brand ambassador Nina Cosford. Recognised for her expressive figures and bright, open colour palette, Cosford brings a contemporary character to the collection that feels inclusive and rooted in everyday life. The edition centres on the iconic 849™ ballpoint pen, animated by a cast of her distinctive, dynamic characters.
Nina Cosford is a freelance illustrator based in Hastings, UK. She is known for her tongue-in-cheek observations of everyday life and all of its joys, challenges and silliness. She is playful with the tone of her work, often using humour and character to tackle various themes and connect to a wide, global audience. She has been named by Stylist Magazine as one of the Top 20 Female Illustrators.
Her work became particularly well-known after she collaborated with Lena Dunham and HBO on the award-winning TV show GIRLS, which sparked a huge interest in the girl-centric zeitgeist of today. She has over 325,000 followers on Instagram and was recently named one of the Top 20 Female Illustrators by Stylist Magazine.
Nina can often be found people-watching and travelling around the world, whenever possible. Her shelves are filled with travel journals in which she writes and draws on every trip.
