Nicholas Middleton in conversation with the Glasgow-based artist and writer Sarah Wishart as they talk about the work in his current one-person exhibition, ‘Shadows and Projections’ in The Art Space, Cass Art Glasgow.
Nicholas Middleton is an artist with a background in painting and print, and interests in photography, film and video. His work probes the status of the image across different mediums, and as a reflection of the world experienced at a remove. Exhibiting widely in the UK, he has also been a prizewinner at the John Moores Painting Prize. In 2025, Nicholas won the Solo Show Award, supported by Cass Art, at the RWS Open exhibition. nicholasmiddleton.co.uk
Sarah Wishart is a Glasgow-based writer, researcher and artist interested in performance, photography, storytelling and the city. Sarah studied performance and live art at Roehampton, Queen Mary's and Leeds Universities, and is co-director of the Sluice Film Festival alongside Karl England. sarahwishart.com
