ABOUT THE STORE
Just 50 yards from Hampstead Heath Station our Hampstead shop stocks a variety of professional art materials, student supplies and an excellent kids' range to inspire the artist in everyone, no matter their age. We also host several workshops for adults and children on the activity table that forms the artistic centre of the shop.
The home of English Romantic painter John Constable, Hampstead is a beautiful borough of London and home to the Hampstead School of Art. Hampstead Heath plays host to The Affordable Art Fair every year and is a favourite subject of local watercolour painters across London. It is also within close proximity of Middlesex University, which has a thriving community of students studying a variety of creative courses.

“As our largest London store, Hampstead carries one of the widest ranges across materials and surfaces — from entry-level through to professional. It’s set up for how people actually work, with the space to explore options properly and a steady run of workshops and events alongside it.”
Fascinated by the nature of colour contrast to create a unique aura and deep visual engagement in the arts, Xiaoyan uses a range of hues to show her ideas infused with uncanny fantasies. Practice spans illustration, painting, and animation. Her work is filled with plants, food, and strange head-like creatures, such as characters composed of eyeballs, or bodies with botanical elements, showcasing the unfixed structures of beings in ways which infer a sense of discomfort and unease.
Measuring just over 2 metres, along the wall of the entrance, the glass front allows the Art Space to look out onto Heath Street. Since it opened, it has played host to a number of artists such as Katy Sayers Green, Mahshid Alaghband and 2019 BP Portrait Award exhibitor Tedi Lena.
