ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIAL GOVERNANCE

We are actively working to reduce our environmental footprint across our operations and supply chain.

SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS & MATERIALS

ETHICS & GOVERNANCE

Guided by transparency and accountability, we aim to do business in a way that’s fair, responsible and consistent across everything we do.

SUPPLY CHAIN ETHICS

We believe the materials artists use should be made and sourced responsibly. That means working closely with suppliers who share our standards on fair labour, safe working conditions and environmental care — and being clear about what sits behind every product we sell.

We prioritise long-term partnerships with manufacturers who can demonstrate transparency across their supply chains, from raw material sourcing through to production. This includes a commitment to fair wages, ethical working practices and compliance with recognised international standards. Where possible, we look to support responsibly sourced materials — from FSC-certified papers to lower-impact production methods — without compromising on quality or performance in the studio.

This is an ongoing process. We continue to review, question and improve how our products are made, so artists can choose their materials with confidence.

SOCIAL IMPACT & COMMUNITY

Cass Art exists to support artists at every stage of their journey.

SUPPORTING ARTISTS

Cass Art is here to support artists at every stage of their practice, making sure the materials you need are accessible, reliable and priced so they can be used, not saved. We understand the importance of quality materials in art education and offer discounts for both Students and Art Educators.

From first marks to established practice, our focus stays the same: backing artists, building opportunities, and helping creativity take shape where it matters most.

In 2024 we launched The Cass Art Prize, an annual open submission competition championing contemporary art from across the UK & the Republic of Ireland. Now with a prize fund worth over £30,000, the Prize offers creatives the chance to showcase their work in a prestigious group exhibition in London, meet fellow creatives and win prizes to support their practice.

CREATIVE COMMUNITIES

Creative work doesn’t always happen in isolation. We support communities by collaborating with local organisations, galleries, schools and grassroots initiatives that bring people together through art. We provide free spaces for artists to exhibit and to share their skills in our UK-wide Art Spaces in-store. The focus is on creating spaces where ideas are shared, skills are developed and more people feel confident taking part. A stronger creative community means more opportunities for artists to connect, learn and keep making.

PARTNERSHIPS

With a focus on education, community and celebrating contemporary artists in the UK, we work closely with leading art brands, galleries, organisations and institutions, including Sky Arts, the National Portrait Gallery, the Mayor of London 4th Plinth Schools Awards, University of the Arts London, The National Saturday Club, The Other Art Fair and more.

To fulfil our mission to support young artists, we provide awards at several UK institutions, ranging from art supplies to free studio space for graduating students. 5% of the sales from our Viridian discount for Art Educators is donated to The National Saturday Club, allowing 13–16-year-olds across the UK to study the subjects they love for free on Saturday mornings.
