Manga Drawing Workshop
28th Jun 2025
Manga typically refers to comics from Japan. With a recent mainstream boom of the genre, artists all across the world have been inspired by it. This beginner-friendly workshop focuses on different elements of manga drawing, including but not limited to stylisation, character drawing and colouring. Every session will have different subjects corresponding to the topic, for example character portrait sketching for stylisation or a full marker illustration for colouring. If you’re looking to learn the basics of drawing with a focus on stylisation or are experienced in other types of art and want to expand your skill set, this workshop is for you!
With a background in fine arts, Emyl Marton studied illustration at the Arts University of Bournemouth. He worked as a freelance illustrator in the vtuber industry and started his own small business, tabling at artist alleys and art markets. His work has always been influenced by manga, especially by Miura Kentaro (Berserk), Oima Yoshitoki (A Silent Voice) and Fujimoto Tatsuki (Chainsaw Man).
