Q&A (1)
Q Why work on wooden panel as oppose to canvas?
A

Paintings on wooden panel are easier to conserve and offer a longer lasting and more rigid surface to paint on than canvas stretched on a frame. This hardness offers superior line control and support, and colour vibrancy is stronger as the colour reflects off the surface as oppose to absorbing into the weave of the canvas.

22nd March 2016 Reviewed by John Eagle Well made but initially oil paint sinks in and stains. Better to put a layer of proper primer on before painting.
