ISLAMIC GEOMETRY WORKSHOP

Learn to construct a different Islamic Geometric pattern every month. In each workshop you will begin with a blank sheet, and step by step draw layers of lines and circles using a compass and straight edge. From this underlying grid a pattern will emerge. Outline, trace and transfer the pattern to watercolour paper, to be decorated using watercolour pencils & paints. A PDF guide is emailed to every participant so that you can work on your pattern at home.
Samia has been a Mathematics Teacher for over 15 years, and loves to combine her knowledge and experience as a teacher with her passion for Islamic Geometry. She has been able to share her for the compass and straight edge constructions of Islamic Geometric Patterns in the UK, abroad and online since September 2015. For her, it is an immensely satisfying pursuit, from analysing and constructing the patterns, to painting them in watercolours and gouache and most of all, teaching others, bringing this art form to a wider audience.
