The Mabef M22 Sketch box Easel is a large, but easily transportable and adjustable easel.

  • Its box compartment makes it the perfect travel companion.
  • The tin lined box contains four compartments, with a sliding drawer and a wooden palette, which also acts as a cover when the easel is folded up for transporting.
  • It has adjustable legs which offer a variety of working positions, allowing you to work on your surfaces flat or vertically.
  • Like all Mabef easels, the M22 Sketch box Easel is constructed from high-quality, oiled, stain-resistant beech wood and would be perfect for artists who work on the move and require storage for their art materials and tools.

This easel can accommodate working surfaces of up 86cm in height, and it weighs 6kg.

When standing, this easel measures 36.5cm x max:183cm. The base measures 74 x 110cm. The box when closed measures 44 x 56 x 16cm. It weighs 6kg.

23rd April 2019 Reviewed by Elizabeth Fortune This easel replaced one I wasn’t happy with - I had trouble getting the legs to stay in place. I was a bit wary about paying so much after reading reviews saying that Mabef quality had declined. However I’m very pleased with it, the quality is excellent and it really is a pleasure to use.

20th February 2019 Reviewed by Tim Houghton Overall a good buy for the price. I'm using only in the house as it has decent inbuilt storage, but I would't like to think I was using in the field as the legs don't feel chunky enough. The fixtures are a coated metal not brass and will therefore wear over time. For the price in the sale it is ok.

20th November 2018 Reviewed by Ron Goodwin The quality of the product was the main reason for buying the Mabef and it lives up to its name. I am using it both indoors and out for acrylics medium and it has sufficient room for most of the paints, brushes, etc. Unfortunately it does not have loops for a shoulder strap.

The metal linings in the sliding draw are better than the photos and allows more flexibility. The cheaper make versions with fixed sides are not much use. 5th July 2016 Reviewed by Keith Walker Since i have bought the easel have seen a similiar priced winsor newton and think the winsor newton is better made. Saying that i am delighted with the easel. I have made a clip on dirty brush holder which i feel essential and found in high wind the easel is stable, 9 out of 10!
