Currently looking at interpersonal relationships, his paintings aim to blur the lines between lived experience and forgotten memories, creating an amalgamation of physical and ghost-like objects within one scene. Oliver uses the materiality of the mundane as a canvas to work from, resulting in added context to the paintings in a more intimate way. With both the material of the canvas, and content of the paintings, the viewer is invited to read into his works, creating their own personal narratives where the inactive space lies.
Located only 50 metres from the Design Museum, a short walk from High Street Kensington tube station, the Kensington Art Space comprises the staircase between the ground and lower-ground floor of our Kensington store and a workshop area situated on the lower-ground floor. Local artists may apply to exhibit their work on the staircase walls and run creative activities for the public.
